We’re so excited to share this beautiful and much-loved Loop kit, now in the most sumptuous mYak Baby Yak & Silk, for Melanie Berg’s ‘On the Spice Market’ shawl. This new Loop version is truly stunning.
This light fingering-weight yarn is a luxurious 50% baby yak / 50% silk blend, combining all the warmth and softness of baby yak with the elegant sheen and fluid drape of silk.
We adore how these fibres come together to create something really special — it blooms beautifully, drapes effortlessly, and has a subtle, luminous shine. The result is a soft, lightweight fabric that’s perfect for this striking statement shawl.
mYak yarns are 100% traceable, with fibres sourced directly from nomadic Tibetan herders.

Needles: US 2˝ - 3.0 mm
Please note the gauge difference: The original pattern gauge is 18 stitches x 36 rows = 10 cm (4") in blocked garter stitch. Our mYak version has a finer gauge of 25 stitches x 50 rows.
The resulting shawl is equally beautiful, just a bit more delicate and smaller in scale!
We recommend you handwash your projects with a gentle wool soap made for handwashing like Eucalan , Soak wool wash or similar.
