One of a kind Hand-Marbled Pouches
A new delivery of these gorgeous pouches has arrived!
From Swarm in Amsterdam made for Loop.
Hand Marbled one of a kind pouch made especially for Loop!
Back in the 19th and 20th Century, the inside covers of books were decorated with wildly colourful papers. Different patterns were all used by bookbinders to ease the transition of a reader's eyes from the cover of the book.
The earliest known examples of marbling date back to Japan in the 12th century used a technique known as suminagashi, meaning "floating ink".
These beautiful pouches have been inspired by these techniques and specially created for Loop. Each bag consists of 2 to 4 individual dips on a heavy cotton canvas, creating individual one-of-a-kind patterns and colours.
Each pouch is unique and has a beautiful vintage French linen lining as well as the Swarm wax seal and a zip top. We are crazy about these!
Leslie is also the maker of our popular and gorgeous Isabella pouch.
Please note: Each style is shown over 2 photographs so you can see both sides of each bag. Click on the drop down menu style ( letter A, B etc) to see the front side of the bag, the photo to the right of the selected image is the other side of the bag.
