Brioche Knitting


This a one day class held from 11-4:30 with a break for lunch.

Here at Loop we can't get enough of brioche knitting. Now is the perfect time of year to learn the skills for this stylish and cosy form of knitting made popular by leading designers such as Nancy Merchant and Stephen West.  

During this workshop Jane Lithgow, one of our highly experienced team of teachers and resident brioche knitting enthusiast will lead you through all you need to know to get started with two colour brioche.

 What you need to know:
This class is suitable for intermediate knitters who are confident with casting on, casting off, knitting and purling, increasing and decreasing.

Morning-

-Introduction to the essentials of brioche fabric.

- Reading brioche patterns

- Two colour cast on

- The basic brioche stitch

-Fixing mistakes I

- I- cord cast off.

Afternoon-

Brioche increases

- Brioche decreases

- Fixing mistakes II

- Single colour brioche

- Choosing a brioche project

Materials to bring:
 4mm 60cm circular needle and small amounts of sport/ lightweight DK yarn in 2 contrasting colours. 

 Lunch is not provided but we have tea, coffee and snacks througout the day.

*Classes are held in the shop. Maximum of 7 students per class.

100% deposit is required at registration.

Cancellation policy: Full refund of payment for a class will be given for cancellations only if the spot can be filled by another student. Please be considerate. Spaces are not transferable to other dates.

We reserve the right to cancel a class in unusual circumstances. We try to avoid this wherever possible, but sometimes it cannot be avoided. In this situation, of course, a full refund will be given.
