Eyelets, garter stitch, a few German Short Rows, that’s all what there is to this piece

The shawl is constructed like a half hap shawl, starting at the center edge with the triangle. It is worked the exact same way as my I smell snow shawl: garter stitch and eyelets goodness.

Then the second color is attached, and half of the stitches are worked with German Short rows (like my Bétula shawl), then the second half stitches are worked in the same fashion.

At the end you have the option to add these big tassels (I’ve created a little video to explain how to make them!).

As for the yarn, I was lucky enough to try the newest Kokon blend which is a 100% museled-free merino. The yarn is very soft to the touch, which makes working with garter stitch a real delight. The colorways are slightly variegated (can you see the little specks of the darker color?) which adds a little both depth to the design itself.

I think that this piece would look stunning with a similar type of yarn, but it could be so delightful with speckles I think!
