Loop - Josephine Shawl
Designed by Paulina Popiolek for loop, London.
A crescent shaped stocking stitch shawl knit in heavenly Squoosh Merino Cashmere Lace. The wide lace and cable border is worked in short rows for a fuller finish and optional beads add weight and sparkle. Charted and written instructions.
“Josephine” is a lovely and feminine crescent shaped shawl, knit in a heavenly soft heavy lace from Squoosh Fibrearts.
The intricate border is knit sideways and frames simple stocking stitch body. The piece is finished off with delicate loop edge created using crochet hook.
The size given requires just under 1 skein (521m/570 yards) of heavy lace shown here in “Winterfell” colour. The pattern would also work well in sock yarn (2 skeins of 400 yards will be enough and if knit to instructions will create slightly larger shawl).
- Yarn: Squoosh Merino Cashmere Lace (Heavy laceweight; 80% Superwash Merino, 10% Cashmere, 10% Nylon; 521m / 570yds per 115g skein) Shown in shade: Winterfell -
Please note: Loop no longer stocks Squoosh Merino Lace but we have plenty of laceweight yarns that are similar and make great substitutes.
