Gepard - Woolia

Oh boy, do we love this yarn! 

Woolly but soft, 132 metres (!), and a great, affordable price. This can be knit as a DK or aran weight yarn. And it's beautiful held doubled with Gepard's Kid Seta Silk Mohair.

Introducing Woolia, a sustainable organic merino yarn that is perfect for needle sizes 4-6mm. Made from wool sourced from an old original Italian sheep breed called Merino Gentile Puglia, this yarn is spun from the wool of lambs and sheep that graze on organic fruit and olive plantations. With a smaller local habitat in Puglia, these sheep are naturally healthier and their grazing is the most sustainable form of wool production. The wool is sorted and sold directly to our spinning mill by local farmers, ensuring a better price for them and a traceable product for us.

Woolia is incredibly soft and completely free of pilling, with 30% more meters than other yarns of the same thickness. This makes it perfect for light and cozy sweaters, even with cable or Fair Isle knitting. While you may initially find the wool to be a bit dry, this is a characteristic of the merino and gives it a unique lightness. 

Woolia can be knitted on several needle thicknesses, this is one of the characteristics about Woolia. Most current knitting tension is 16-18 stitches.
