  • Rib stitch and playing with the knit and purl stitches
  • Basic pattern reading, pattern abbreviations and terminology.

Materials info

*You will be provided with yarn and needles on the day.

Learners - it may also be helpful to bring a pen to make your own notations on the given worksheets or in a small notebook as often these notes are really helpful as an aide memoire after the class has finished.

Sophie Heathscott (she/her) has been crafting and making all her life, from dressmaking to ceramics. She learned to knit when she was knee-high to a sheep, and after studying Design at Goldsmiths, London, she fully wove herself into the knitting world – including being a Loopette for nearly 6 years! She is passionate about how making creates community and provides a remedy for overconsumption
