Inspired by the iconic hunting shoe made right here in Maine, these knit duck booties will keep your little one’s toes warm and cozy for all your adventures to come. In three bootie-ful colors and four size options: the two baby sizes use Finch for the uppers, while the two toddler sizes use Chickadee (note: kit contains the yarn for the uppers in baby sizes only).

GAUGE:
Baby version: 28 sts and 44 rows = 4" [10 cm] in reverse stockinette stitch with Finch and smaller needles, after blocking / Toddler version: 25 sts and 36 rows = 4" [10 cm] in reverse stockinette stitch with Chickadee and larger needles, after blocking
NOTES:
Booties are knitted flat, from the bottom up, beginning at center of sole. Once sole and sides are worked, toe is shaped using short rows, then tongue is continued from the toe stitches. Remaining stiches are joined together at center back to make upper. Heel and sole are then sewn closed.
