Julie Arkell Stitching Owls Workshop

New for Autumn 2025

Barn owls, little owls, short-eared owls, tawny and wood owls often dwell in ruins and forests, quietly hidden among the trees. These gentle, elusive birds have long inspired stories, art, and objects. My inspiration came from an owl depicted on an ancient Etruscan ceramic pot I saw in a museum in Parma, Italy. I transformed that image into a brooch, and in this workshop, we will create our own owl using fabric, wool, felt, and threads. There will also be time to craft twigs, toadstools, trees, and eggs to build a charming Owlie scene together.

*Please bring with you your own sewing kit and any fabric, threads and wool you would like to use.

Sunday, November 30th 11-5pm

The class will have a maximum of 9 students. You will be able to shop in the shop as well if you would like. It should be really lovely!

Takes place on Sunday from 11am-5pm.

Held next door at Frequency Coffee

Cancellation policy
A refund of payment for the class will be given for cancellations only if the spot can be filled by another student, minus a 10% admin fee. Please be considerate. 
We reserve the right to cancel a class in unusual circumstances. We try to avoid this wherever possible, but sometimes it cannot be avoided. In this situation, of course, a full refund will be given.

We're sorry, but Loop cannot be financially responsible for extreme weather conditions or any other situations that are out of its' control.
If we need to cancel the class due to any unforeseen lockdown measures in London we will of course offer you a full refund or shop credit (whatever your preference is).
