Rosita Studio - Intermediate Floral Alphabet Sampler Workshop
Suitable for intermediate students.
November 16th , Saturday afternoon.
Maximum of 10 students
Meet the talented Maria Gispert Bahí, the creative mind and expert behind Rosita Studio.
Create your own floral alphabet or give it as a thoughtful gift to a fellow hand embroidery enthusiast.
This intermediate level class and floral sampler is perfect for those with some prior embroidery experience. Maria will take you through step-by-step with a visual guide provided with the sampler. If you are still feeling unsure, we highly recommend trying the beginner's floral embroidery workshop first to build your skills before taking on this alphabet.
You have the freedom to choose your preferred stitching technique for each flower, but if you'd like to follow Maria's style, Maria will guide you through all the stitches with a helpful visual guide. To complete the alphabet, Maria used the same eight stitches taught in the beginner's floral embroidery workshop: Split stitch, stem stitch, chain stitch, detached chain stitch, french knots, satin stitch, fly stitch, and fishbone stitch.
Each student will receive the Floral Alphabet Sampler in class and there will be plenty of threads, hoops and needles to use during class. (Price includes the floral alphabet sampler)
Measurements are as follows: Fabric 50x50cm (approx.) /
Printed alphabet 40x32cm. The alphabet is printed on high-quality organic cotton fabric made in the UK
The workshop will take place from 14:30 -17:30 with a short break and will be held right next door to Loop, at our lovely neighbour Frequency Coffee. Please come to Loop at least a few minutes before the class starts and we will bring you over to Frequency, to settle you in with a free coffee as well.
About Maria:
Originally from l'Empordà, a beautiful coastal area of Catalonia, Maria now resides in Wiltshire, UK, where her partner runs a bakery. They share their home with their baby, Felix, and their dog, Poppy.
Her grandmother, Rosita, was the epitome of a simple life—authentic, hardworking, and multi-skilled in rural crafts. Rosita's wisdom in nature and traditions served as a profound inspiration, instilling values that are pursued daily in both life and business.
Her journey in sewing began at the age of five, under the tutelage of her mother, a seamstress and sewing teacher. Growing up, she mastered various sewing techniques and later trained as a pattern and dressmaker, eventually studying Fashion Design in Barcelona.
A lifelong passion for crafts, particularly colours, textures, and sewing, naturally led her to embroidery. Inspired by the old embroidered table and bed linens painstakingly created by the women in her family, she began crafting colourful modern heirlooms, giving birth to Rosita Studio.
