Just in time for Winter coziness and gift knitting!

Our ‘Pressed Flowers Kerchief class’ is on Saturday, November 9th, with our wonderful Rhona MacKillop at Loop.

This very cool class is aimed at Beginners and it includes 3 hours of tuition, 2 balls of wonderful Woolia yarn from Gepard yarn and an Addi circular needle ( don’t fret - if you’re not used to knitting on a circular needle yet, we’re going to show you how. Easy peasy), and tea and biscuits. By the end of the workshop we’re sure that you’re going to be so excited to see what you can knit that it might open up a whole new world of knitting for you.

For beginners that can cast on, knit and purl. That’s it. But you must be able to knit and purl already. We promise you you’re going to love this class and that you’ll feel much more confident and excited about knitting. We bet some of you will go on to knit a few more kerchiefs for holiday gifts and maybe love it so much you’ll keep going and size them up to make small shawls. Honestly, it’s the kind of knitting pattern from Amy Christoffers @savouryknitting that gets you excited about colour and texture.

The "Pressed Flowers Kerchief" is designed by Amy Christophers and is a riff on her earlier very beautiful and über-popular "Pressed Flowers Shawl". This version is part of a pattern collection that is free to download from Pompom publishing on the Hobbii website. It can be knit in any yarn from DK to Aran weight, and is a wonderful way to play with colour ideas. When the class starts we'll be offering you to pick two colours from the 24 colours in the very beautiful Woolia yarn that is one of our newest yarns at Loop! It's a lovely organic merino wool.

Take your knitting to the next level learning the easy but beautiful technique of mosaic knitting (simple, but beautiful colour work done with passing stitches, which we will teach you).

Classes will be held at Frequency Café next door to Loop. Maximum of 10 students per class.

The workshop will take place right next door to Loop, at our lovely neighbour Frequency Coffee. Please come to Loop at least a few minutes before the class starts and we will  and bring you over to Frequency, to settle you in with a free coffee as well.
