To celebrate our 20th Anniversary, we're beyond delighted to reintroduce one of our most beloved designs—Sous Sous —in a stunning new 4ply version by the original designer, Norah Gaughan.

This reimagined version brings fresh elegance to a timeless favourite, now knit in The Uncommon Thread's Everyday 100% Merino, offering softness, drape, and modern charm. With a few subtle refinements, Sous Sous is more beautiful than ever.

Originally inspired by the ballet term sous sous—a graceful movement that shifts from side to side, back to front—this design captures the same fluidity and rhythm that knitters love.

Available as a kit, Sous Sous is ready to dance off your needles.

Our Kit is available in 3 colourways and includes all the yarn you'll need + a special Loop project bag and the revised printed pattern.

Please note: This kit comes with the revised printed pattern so no need to purchase it separately. 

Our kits cover sizes 1-3 and sizes 4-6.  If you need a size 7 or 8 please purchase 1 extra skein of your preferred colour in the Uncommon Thread Everyday.

Gauge

30 sts and 40 rows = 4” or 10 cm in moss stitch using larger needles. Measured after wet blocking.

Needles

Size US 3 (3.25mm), 32”or 40” (80cm or100 cm) circulars or size to get gauge. US 2 (2.75mm), 32”or 40” (80cm or100 cm) circulars (or 1 size smaller than above) for knitting edges.

Notes
1. Knit in one piece from the top down, with sleeves picked up and knit down  in the round.
