Kira kira (キラキラ / きらきら) is a Japanese onomatopoeic word that describes something sparkling, glittering, or twinkling.

This sparkling embroidery thread evokes the shimmer of glass, water, and neon light. Its glossy, ribbon-like fibres create subtle colour gradations that appear differently depending on how they’re used. Line stitches highlight the shifting tones beautifully, giving even simple designs a luminous, luxurious finish. As the thread has some stretch, stitching carefully will produce the best results.

Please note

  • Always use the included threader when threading the needle. If the thread end becomes frayed, trim it immediately to avoid tangling or damaging the texture. We recommend working with about 40 cm of thread at a time.

  • Not suitable for thick fabrics such as canvas.

  • Threads and printed fabric are heat-sensitive. If ironing, cover with a cloth and iron the reverse side at a low temperature.
