This 2 color cowl is worked in the round. The body - the striped portion - is worked first. The edging is knit flat and knit onto the body of the cowl.
Yarns suggested:
Any good Fingering weight yarn.
For small size you need one skein each of each colour: 170 yards (155 metres) of main colour and 60 yards (55 metres) of contrast colour.
For medium version you need one skein of each colour: 360 yards (330 metres) of main colour and 125 yards (114 metres) of contrast colour.
For large version you need 2 skeins of main colour and 1 skein of contast colour: 445 yards (407 metres) of main colour and 160 yards (146 metres) of contrast colour.
Gauge
17 stitches and 40 rows = 4 inches/10cm in striped lace
Needle size
Circular US 6 - 4.0 mm (16"/40cm)for small size. For medium or large size you need 32"/80cm circular needle.
An additional 4mm x 80cm or shorter circulars or 14mm DPN
Other materials: Stitch Markers, tapestry needle,4mm crochet hook, scrap yarn.
