John Arbon Textiles

We are so thrilled to have some of John Arbon's beautiful British yarns in the shop.

‘Yarnadelic’ is inspired by John's, the founder of John Arbon Textiles, eclectic record collection – everything from punk to funk, a collection of beautiful melange shades in a heavy 4 ply/Sport yarn. Yarnadelic is 100% Falklands Corriedale and an absolutely beautiful all-round go-to yarn for everything from cables to lace and garments to accessories.

We’re also excited to offer Knit by Numbers DK and Knit by Numbers 4ply – two wonderfully soft, versatile yarns made from 100% Falklands Merino. Available in an extensive range of carefully curated shades, Knit by Numbers is perfect for colourwork, stripes, and blending for subtle ombré effects. The DK weight is great for everything from cosy sweaters to textured accessories, while the 4ply is ideal for lighter-weight garments and intricate stitch patterns. We also stock 4 Ply mini skeins. Our newest addition to the John Arbon family, is Seafarer, coming very soon.

John Arbon Textiles is an independent business making luxury yarns and fibre tops in their small-scale, worsted spinning Mill in North Devon (one of only a handful still operating in the UK). Where possible, they source fibre locally, or through trusted suppliers in the Falklands and worldwide. John Arbon textiles use predominantly vintage machinery that has been lovingly restored and maintained to create wonderful artisan goods using a hands-on approach to production. All their yarn and tops ranges are blended and designed by the incredibly talented all-women team at the Mill, inspired by the natural world around us.

The mill and business are owned and operated by a great group of women.  British-made.
