Yarnadelic is 100% Falklands Corriedale. The breed is around 100 years old and was derived by crossing the Merino and Lincoln Longwool. It is one of the mill's favourite fibres as its properties are a perfect balance of delightful softness and bounce from the Merino, combined with the slight lustre and long staple length of the Lincoln Longwool – a fibre lover’s dream!
By giving this yarn a rounded 3 fold structure, they’ve enhanced the fibres natural stitch definition and drape creating the ideal all-round go-to yarn for everything from cables to lace and garments to accessories.
The Corriedale is farmed in the Falkland Islands – ensuring that the animals have been treated with the utmost care and are free from harmful mulesing. The fibre has then been dyed in the UK and lovingly prepared, blended, and spun at John Arbon's North Devon Mill.
Florence - our gorgeous shawl pattern designed for Loop by Florence Spurling is knit in Yarnadelic and we have two different colour versions available as kits.
Fabienne Gassmann, a Loopette of many years, designed a fabulous cowl design for the launch of this yarn. It's called Soundwave Static Cowl and can be found on Ravelry here. We have a sample in the shop in a different colourway if you can visit.
