Kindred Knits - Aleks Byrd

Thank you to Aleks, and Jonna Helin of Laine Publishing who joined us at Loop on November 9th to celebrate the launch of this beautiful book. The copies we have in the shop now are all signed by Aleks. 

Kindred Knits by Aleks Byrd is a beautiful collection of knitwear designs inspired by the vintage sketchbooks of her Estonian grandmother, Hilja, and treasured family heirlooms. This book offers 15 patterns, including socks, hats, sweaters, and cardigans, showcasing a blend of lace, cables, colourwork, and the traditional Estonian inlay technique, Roosimine. Aleks’s designs balance modern innovation with rich tradition, celebrating the craft passed down through generations. As a talented illustrator and knitwear designer, Aleks is known for revitalizing Estonian knitting techniques, making this collection both meaningful and inspiring.
