De Rerum Natura - Antigone
The most gorgeous linen from De Rerum Natura is here! In 35 stunning colours!
With ten strands of well-twisted combed linen, Antigone boasts a smooth and lustrous touch that will leave you feeling refreshed. Whether you choose to knit with fine needles for a traditional look or with larger needles to highlight its natural drape, this yarn is versatile for a variety of patterns. Perfect for mid-season jumpers and warm-weather tops, as well as a lace cardigan to complement a pretty dress or a crocheted shopping bag, this yarn is made from flax grown in Normandy by the Terre de Lin cooperative. The cooperative follows ancient cultivation practices to preserve the soil and produce high-quality fibres without chemicals. The long fibres are wet-spun with great care in Lithuania, resulting in a consistent, soft, and naturally glossy yarn. Finally, the yarn is twisted and dyed in the Creuse region of France.
Antigone has been named after the play by Jean Anouilh inspired by the play of the same name by Sophocles. Inspired by an act of the French Resistance, the play was produced in 1944, a few months before the liberation of Paris.
It is advisable to wash your knitting machine, delicate cycle, and dry it flat to avoid it stretching.
