The design is worked from the top down in textured knitting with raglan increases. Short rows are worked to raise the neck slightly. Button bands are worked at the end. The length of the sleeves and body is easily adjustable.
This cardigan requires only a minimum of finishing.
Children of the same age might have very different measurements. Choose your size after the child’s measurement rather than their age.

Finished measurements:

Sizes (0) 1 (3) 6 (9) 12 (18) 24 months
Chest: approx. (43) 47 (50) 55 (57) 60 (63) 65 cm.
Lenght of body: approx. (13.5) 15 (18.5) 20 (21.5) 23 (25) 27 cm.

Suggested yarn:

Yaku 100% merino wool 200m/50g from CaMaRose.
(2) 2 (3) 3 (4) 4 (5) 5 skeins.

Suggested needle size:

Double pointed needles size 2.5 mm and 3.0 mm, 15 cm.
Circular needles size 2.5 mm and 3.0 mm, 40 and 60 cm.

Gauge:

30 sts and 42 rows = 10 x 10 cm in stockinette stitch on size 3.0 mm needles.

Notions:

2 stitch holders (or scrap yarn), 4 markers, and approx. (4) 5 (5) 5 (6) 6 (6) 6 buttons,  11-13mm.
