This shawl uses fan motifs to create its wide, narrow shape and open 
drape. It’s worked in my favourite colour combo of blues, greys and 
chartruse, to reflect the moody, rainy summer that it was made in.

Sizes 
Finished depth: 66cm/26in 
Finished length: 182cm/72in

Materials 
1 50g skein Quince and Co. Tern (4ply, 75% wool, 25% silk, 202m/221y) each in: 
Col A - Petrol, Col B - Beach Glass, 
Col C - Kelp, Col D - Stonington 
5mm (H/8) crochet hook

Tension 
Each motif measures 15cm/6in x 30cm/12in using 5mm hook (or size 
needed to achieve tension)

Difficulty Rating 
Easy

Skills Needed 
Basic crochet stitches, working in rows, increasing, joining motifs on.

Construction 
Starts at the bottom with 3 adjoining motifs and then builds up in rows 
from there. The motifs are joined as you go, with outer edges using foundation stitches where there is no motif to work into. Please use the schematic below for colour and motif placement.
