On this asymmetrical, sideways knit shawl, Melanie Rice combined pretty ribbon lace with an uneven ribbing motif in our soft linen Sparrow. Think waves lapping against a shoreline grooved with tiny rivulets and ripples in the sand. The piece is worked on the bias from the right tip to the wide left edge.

80" [203 cm] wingspan and 22" [56 cm] deep at center

sparrow / maize 219 / 5 skeins
NEEDLES:
32" circular needle in size US 4 [3.5 mm]
GAUGE:
24 sts and 30 rows = 4" [10 cm] in (k1, p2) rib pattern, stretched, after wet blocking
