Daughter of a Shepherd - Drover Sock
We are very excited to have Daughter of a Shepherd's new sock yarn!
Just launched in July!
Drover is a worsted spun
British wool spun by John Arbon Textiles with a high twist and pinch of nylon for strength. The same gorgeous depth of colour as other Daughter of a Shepherd bases but blended especially for hard wearing socks or any other accessories and garments that require a bit more strength.
Rachel's passion for the importance of provenance, collaborating with both shepherds, mills, designers and weavers has been a wonder to watch unfold over the last few years. We love her, her yarn and her story. See more of her story on our youtube channel as well as our Instagram TV channel.
Available in three natural and un-dyed fleece shades:
Whernside; dark, Hebridean + Zwartbles
Ingleborough; mid-grey, Hebridean, Zwartbles + Exmoor Blueface
Pen-y-Ghent; light-grey, Hebridean, Zwartbles + Exmoor Blueface
We also stock lots of other Daughter of a Shepherd yarns. You can see the whole collection here
90% British Wool , 10% Nylon
166 metres/182 yards
30 sts and 42 rows to 10cm (4")
Please note: For environmental reasons and to preserve the natural lustre of the fibre they do not scour after spinning, so it is important to wash swatches to achieve a correct gauge measurement with this yarn.
We always recommend hand washing in order to prolong the life of your knitwear.
