Improvers Knitting Class
New workshop for Winter 2022!
This class is held in our London shop.
A class for those comfortable with the basics of knitting, but wanting to learn more!
WHEN BOOKING A CLASS ONLINE, OTHER THAN BY CALLING THE SHOP, PLEASE MAKE SURE TO PUT YOUR PHONE NUMBER AND EMAIL IN THE 'NOTES' PART OF THE ORDER.
Three Thursday evenings at Loop. 6:30-8:30pm for a total of 6 hours tuition.
January 27th, February 3rd & 10th
Feb 24th & 3rd, 10th March
1st lesson: After a short introduction of 'back to basics' you will learn how to read patterns, why tension squares matters and how to check your own tension and chose the correct yarn for your project.
Lesson 1 will also cover how to shape a garment and with increases and decreases. To summarise you will learn: Reading patterns and understanding abbreviations, Tension/gauge squares, Shaping Alterations
2nd lesson: You will learn how to knit with several colours simultaneously understanding both Fair Isle and Intarsia methods. The benefits of knitting in the round and how to do Aran knitting will also be covered. To summarise you will learn: Introduction to Fair Isle and Intarsia techniques, Knitting in the round, Aran knitting: how to do cables.
3rd lesson: The lesson will focus on finishing techniques such as how to sew up your garment but also cover stitch combinations and an introduction to Lace. To summarise you will be taught: An introduction to Lace Basic stitch combinations: moss and rib Finishing techniques: fixing mistakes and picking up stitches.

*Prices include materials. Classes are held in the shop. Maximum of 7 students per class.
100% deposit is required at registration.
*Materials supplied but if you are working on a project already please feel free to bring it.
A full refund of payment for the class will be given for cancellations only if the spot can be filled by another student, minus a 10% admin fee. Please be considerate.
We reserve the right to cancel a class in unusual circumstances. We try to avoid this wherever possible, but sometimes it cannot be avoided. In this situation, of course, a full refund will be given.
We're sorry but Loop can not be financially responsible for extreme weather conditions or any other situations that are out of its' control.
If we need to cancel the class due to any unforeseen lockdown measures in London we will of course offer you a full refund or shop credit (whatever your preference is).
