Karelia Sweater Kit

New very beautiful kits at Loop!

We will have more kits of the Cezanne and Berry Picking colourways in mid to late March.

We are super excited to bring you kits for the Karelia Sweater designed by Midori Hirose! One of our favourite patterns!!!

Midori Hirose has worked with Daruma yarns in Tokyo to create a beautiful combination of yarns and colours. Each kit includes Air Wool Alpaca for the main colour and comes with all the yarns you'll need to create the stunning flower and leaf motifs in the yoke using their Geek and iroiro yarns. 

 The flower motif is worked not as embroidering but as weaving between the stitches while knitting. It is a traditional Estonian technique called "Roosimine", which means Rose in the Estonian language. The pattern made with this technique is called "Roositud". The different weights of yarn used for the motif create an interesting three-dimensional look, and it's so beautiful!

We have three colourways to choose from, and each one comes with everything you need for the sweater, all wrapped up in a beautiful special edition bag from Amirisu. Unfortunately, the kit does NOT include the pattern, but it is available through Midori's Ravelry page.

Please note the pattern instructions are for long sleeves. Some of the photographs show simple modifications for short sleeves or without ribbing on the sleeve cuffs.

Each kit comes with a great leaflet that shows an image of the colour choice and a chart with where to use each yarn and colour. There is also a lovely description of what inspired the colour choices. 
Everything has been thought out with this wonderful kit.

Please make sure to choose your size carefully as we do not usually stock these yarns at Loop and will not be able to order extra yarn.
